Latest On Transfer of Park to City

The transfer is still in the works. Apparently, the property ownership is suspended in limbo somewhere between the Legion and city. Rummer has it that the city wants to remove the garden.

About Remsen Park

Remsen Park is a triangle shaped, vest pocket size patch of green located in Forest Hills, a New York City neighborhood in the borough of Queens. The park contains a private Colonial family cemetery dating to the early 18th Century, which is a New York State landmark site and the park’s most notable feature. Buried here are the remains of several Colonial militia leaders active in both the French and Indian War and the American Revolutionary War. The street location is where Alderton Street meets Trotting Course Lane at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue, one block east of Woodhaven Boulvard.
